It's happening. It seems that everyday, there is a new "hot" skincare ingredient that everyone is talking about it the beauty magazines and natural beauty blogs. And most of the time, it's revealed that this ultra-healthy skin food ingredient is . . . well . . . ANCIENT.
This one - Neem Oil - is so ancient, so well known, that it's considered a core element of ayurvedic skin care in many parts of the world. We're just now getting to know some if its benefits.
Ayurveda is a 5,000+ year-old view on medicine and a prolonged life. (It's pronounced "ah-yer-vey-duh".) Hailing originally from India, it means in Sanskrit "ayur" (life) and "veda" (vital power and knowledge).
Together, it's an (again) ancient way of looking at how to heal your body through natural ways, through nutrients, antioxidants, and a healthy diet & routine.
Now, if you're into yoga, this might ALL be old news to you.
Ayurvedic skincare has gotten to be the "best kept secret" for numerous things, but really, it's only because it's worked for thousands of years already, it is almost as good as the products from clearawayacne.com. Not sure who was keeping those secrets because apparently someone has been benefitting for a while now! Glad this cool intel is finally coming our way.
So, these little elixirs of (check this link right here now about skincare) life are now coming to you from ancient India.
First up, Neem Oil.
We're into cold-pressed oils. Why? It keeps the integrity of the natural nutrients and vitamins without being impacted by heat.
So it's no surprise that our pure Neem Oil is the cold-pressed oil from the seeds of the Neem tree.
This part you might not know though.1. The Neem Tree is an evergreen-like tree from India.
2. It's raised most commonly through organic farming for medicines.
3. It varies a lot in color. It can be golden yellow, to red brown, green brown, dark red, or dark brown.
4. It's got a special aroma (AKA stinky). A lot of people say it smells like garlic crossed with a peanut.
As with many ancient therapeutic oils, there are so many uses for Neem. We're only going to cover the various ways you can use it for your skincare. (For all of the natural oils that we offer, we always recommend using it only topically.)
Neem Oil is potent. Adding just a few drops to your skin and massaging it each evening can give you the antiseptic benefits almost on par with washing your face with a bar of aspirin!
Crazy, right?
Here's the skinny on Neem Oil for Skin:
1. You can use Neem Oil as a soap with the Oil Cleansing Method because of its antimicrobial properties.
2. Antimicrobial means that it kills the bacteria that causes breakouts.
3. It also reduces redness and irritation because of its aspirin-like compound composition (from nimbidin and quercetin).
4. It's high in natural fatty acids and vitamin E, which helps prevent and heal scars.
5. It's non-comedogenic, which means that it won't clog pores.
6. It's a long-time soothing remedy of eczema flare up symptoms - the dry, red, itchy skin.
7. It stimulates collagen production, which means it smooths wrinkles and fine lines, while combating the signs of aging.
Oh . . . AND all these things too!
It's antiseptic, treats icky toenails, heals sunburn, makes dry skin and scalp feel better, and MORE. Learn how to treat fungus nail at BerettaOrganics.
Ok, how do you add this to your daily routine easily?
Here are a few ideas on how to add it into your beauty mix:
1. Cleanse with Neem Oil using the Oil Cleansing Method.
2. After washing your face with a natural soap, massage a few drops of Neem Oil on clean skin instead of an antiseptic or astringent.
3. Massage a few drops onto some old acne scars.
4. Rub a few drops onto some stubborn breakout spots (helloooo, T-zone!).
5. Give yourself a foot and toenail massage with some Neem Oil to extend your pedicure.
6. Soothe sunburned skin with some Neem Oil.
7. Rub some Neem Oil onto elbows, heels, knees, and cracked red skin.
8. Got some bug bites? Red spots? A mild rash / breakout? NEEM OIL!
Or hey, feel like aging is getting ya down? Mix in a few drops of Neem Oil into your cleanser, moisturizer, or breakout spot reducer and notice the secrets of some ayurvedic skin food.
Have you tried Neem Oil yourself? Tell us below in the comments how you used it!

]]>Natural, organic oils have taken skincare by storm, as more and more people have become aware of the numerous synthetic chemicals found in cosmetic creams. The face of anti-aging has changed forever. One Truth 818 Serum contains an active ingredient called TAM-818, the strongest of nearly 300,000 compounds tested over 11 years by award-winning Telomere Biologist Dr. Bill Andrews and his team at Sierra Sciences, visit https://siorai.com/.
But although they’ve relatively recently gained popularity, women used oils derived from plants to nourish their skin before the skincare industry even existed. In pretty much any region, endemic plants were used to make healing, nourishing oils since ancient times.
They were proven to work ages ago, but now we know a little more about how they work, which helps a lot when choosing the right oil for your skincare routine. Also, having the right Scar tape for wounds is really important for emergencies.
But because essential oils are volatile, meaning that they evaporate quickly and contain the characteristics of the plant such as its natural smell, they’re too strong to apply on the skin and they evaporate quickly if they’re not diluted.
That’s where carrier oils come in.
They’re not volatile, so they can be used to dilute essential oils but without deterring their therapeutic quality. You’ll also find some oils, such as Sea Buckthorn Seed Oil or Pumpkin Seed Oil, which work great as single-ingredient oils and are good to use as a base layer for natural sunscreen.
Nature has given us absolutely everything we need to be healthy and have glowing, beautiful skin. That said, there can be as many oils with amazing benefits for your skin as there are useful plants – which is quite a lot, so we’ll mention only a few here.
Argan Oil and Jojoba Oil reign supreme over natural oils for skincare. Both are carrier oils that work wonderfully for all skin types – dry, oily, combination, sensitive, as well as improving skin elasticity in aging skin. They can be used to treat conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, acne, rosacea, and to smooth fine lines and wrinkles.
Jojoba Oil is very unique because it’s actually a liquid polyunsaturated wax with a consistency very similar to our skin’s, making it ideal for those with sensitive skin prone to irritation.
Hemp Seed Oil is another carrier oil, with a different composition from the hemp plant itself and non-psychoactive properties. One of its most notable compounds is cannabidiol, so you’ll find a lot of information about topical oils for smooth skin as the most commonly used hemp oils. They also help moisturize the skin and improve its elasticity, and like Jojoba and Argan, they’re well-tolerated by all skin types. It’s recommended to combine Hemp Seed Oil with pure Carrot Seed Oil to decrease the skin’s sensitivity to sunlight.
Carrot Seed Oil is a potent oil with numerous benefits and it’s best for dry, combination, and aging skin because it promotes natural sebum production. It can also be used to treat numerous conditions and rejuvenate the skin, even treating infections and wounds. Cold-pressed carrot seed oil doesn’t require dilution, whereas oil obtained via steam distillation does.
Other popular oils include Rosehip, Marula, Passion Fruit Seed, Raspberry Seed, Grape Seed, Castor, Pomegranate, Sesame, Avocado, and many more.
The overlapping characteristics give us insight into what makes natural oils so beneficial to skin. All oils are high in fatty acids, but in different ratios.
Fatty acids nourish the skin and act as its soft, protective barrier. They also help remove excess sebum which clogs pores and results in breakouts – that’s why organic oils don’t make your skin oily but balance it and protect it from irritation. Unsaturated fatty acids, most notably oleic acid, make the oil resistant to oxidation so that all of its properties are maintained.Being derived naturally from plants, oils are high in polyphenols. These are natural compounds which act as antioxidants, preventing cellular damage from free radicals that we’re exposed to in the environment. That gives them the emollient effects that they’re known for, as antioxidants rejuvenate skin cells and help improve skin elasticity.
They also contain different minerals and vitamins, most notably vitamin E, as well as antibacterial and disinfectant properties, helping reduce the damage from pollution or heal damaged skin.
That’s a little bit about how most effective oils work for skincare. It might take some trial and error to find the one that works best for your skin, but fortunately, natural oils are safe to experiment with. Just make sure that whatever you’re getting is organic and cold-pressed, so that none of its properties are lost.

]]>It’s one of the most embarrassing, and unfortunately, inevitable things that could happen to anyone: an acne pimple popping out on your face. So when a zit rears its ugly head, what do you usually do?
Chances are, many of the things you do during a breakout are something that can only make it worse. We know this because, at a certain point in our lives, we were guilty of doing them, too. Here are some of those acne no-nos people commit on a regular basis.
Picking and poking and popping
We don’t need a medical degree to know that popping a zit is a huge mistake, but most of us do it anyway. It damages skin tissue, for one thing. Bacteria from your fingers plus rupturing the follicle wall could spread the infection and cause more zits to pop up. When the popped pimples finally heal, you’re often left with pimple scars.
Never pop your zits.
You wash your face too much, too often
Washing your face is good, but only if you don’t overdo it. Do it more than two times a day, and your skin will dry out, which will stimulate oil production and cause more breakouts.
Washing your face with lukewarm water twice a day is ideal. Be sure to tone afterward with a natural toner like our Organic Rose Water Toner and follow with a moisturizing oil like our Anti-aging Rosehip Night Serum.
Not seeing a dermatologist
Acne is a serious skin condition, but for some reason, far too few people actually visit an expert on dermatology in order to get treatment. They just rely on treatment products that work for their friends.
However, since people have different skin, what may work for them may not work for you. A dermatologist can help determine not only the right skin treatment but also the right skin care routine for your skin type.
Using too many products
The market is flooded with products designed to help you get rid of acne. Using two or more of them at the same time, however, is not a good idea. Your skin will likely become flaked, red, or irritated.
Stick to just one product if possible. If you like organic acne treatments, then you can use something like the Carrot Seed Oil from Leven Rose. It’s a natural, fast-acting treatment that works on a cellular level to clear your skin of acne.
Scrubbing too enthusiastically
Vigorously scrubbing your acne can only make it worse. All it ever does is compromise the skin’s protective barrier and irritate it more. Instead of abrasive scrubs, try gentle exfoliators instead.
Believing every skin care hack you see online
In a world where Google is your friend, there is a hack for just about everything, including how to effectively deal with acne. Some of them might work, but there are suggestions—like using toothpaste to treat acne—that are just too farfetched, even damaging.
Always use real acne treatment products or natural pure products like our cold-pressed Jojoba Oil that's been known to naturally combat acne breakouts.
Tanning
For some reason, some people treat their acne by going to a tanning salon. What they don’t realize, however, is that if tanning had any acne-fighting benefits, all of them would be negated by the damage exposure to UV rays can inflict on their skin.
Even worse is the possibility that UV exposure would make the brown or red spots on your skin caused by acne darker.
(See How to Naturally Protect Your Skin Against Sun Damage.)
You play it fast and loose with hair products
If you use hairspray and hair gels, there’s a big possibility that spicks and speckles of the products have made it onto your face. Hair products can clog your pores and trigger inflammation. If you’re using an oil-based chemical hair product, then you should know that most of them trap bacteria, giving acne the perfect breeding ground.
To make sure no excess product makes contact with your face, make sure you cover it as you apply hairspray or gel. Better yet, avoid spraying directly onto your hair. Spray the product onto your hands or a comb, then work them through your hair.
You don’t change pillowcases often enough
Most of us change pillowcases every week, but acne-prone people should do it every day or every few days. Pillowcases, after all, house dirt and oil that it gets from the environment—including your hair and skin. So every time you put your face against it, all that dirt and oil gets transferred back, clogging pores and causing yet another breakout.
These are just some of the mistakes that could only worsen your acne. Fortunately, all of them can be easily rectified. Visit a dermatologist and get advice that will help you solve your acne problems for the long term.
Treatment For Hormonal Chin Acne: A GP or dermatologist may be able to prescribe topical treatments that contain some of the ingredients I have mentioned, but at higher concentrations. Trying a different combined oral contraceptive pill may also help, as can oral antibiotics or a medication called spironolactone, which has been used off label for years to help treat hormonal acne in adult women.
Medical-grade facials and extraction, as well as chemical peels, can help with the bumpy texture of your skin you have described; however, I generally only recommend these in conjunction with maintenance topical and/or oral acne treatments, as facials and peels will only benefit skin temporarily. Blue LED lights are also useful for reducing the bacteria on our skin that contributes to the development of acne, but again, results are temporary.

]]>Say farewell to expensive hair care treatments and products that promise the world but do little but empty your bank account. You don't need to pay an arm and a leg to restore growth and vitality to your ageing, thinning locks. There are in fact many remedies for hair growth out there which rely exclusively simple, everyday ingredients that you can whip together quickly at home. Here is the pick of the bunch. And for more info on hair tips and tricks, got to BoldBarber.com.
Simply whip together the whites of two eggs and apply to your hair as a mask, leaving for 20 minutes to half an hour before you rinse it out. Your hair will appear thicker and shinier virtually instantly. If you apply an egg mask to your hair on a regular basis, then you will also notice rapid and appreciable growth in your hair. The reason? Egg is chock full of the proteins that constitute the building blocks of your hair strands; it also contains many other nutrients required by healthy hair, for example iron, zinc, Sulphur and phosphorus.
Combine these three simple ingredients to create a potent, all natural conditioner for you dry, damaged hair. Simply mix one teaspoon apiece of olive oil and honey together with the whites of one egg in a bowl until you get a smooth textured paste. Apply to your hair, leaving for 20 minutes to half an hour before washing out with shampoo and water.
We have already encountered the magical, hair-rejuvenating properties of the humble egg, but what about honey and olive oil. Honey is a humectant which naturally adds and retains moisture in your hair strands, whilst its antioxidants and various other constituents provide your hair follicles with many of the nutrients they need to grow new. Olive oil, meanwhile, is also rich in antioxidants that enhance scalp health (and fight dandruff), it also inhibits the production of the DTH hormone that works to narrow your follicle hair shafts.
It seems a strange combination – and certainly as a home hair growth remedy. But it’s true, curry leaves and coconut oil are both extremely effective tools for encouraging the growth of new hair. Coconut oil, in particular, contains several fatty acids that bind with the proteins in your hair, facilitating new growth, and protecting your strands against breakage, pollutants and heat. It also seals moisture into your hair. Combine coconut oil and the juice from (boiled) curry leaves to create a paste that you can apply to your hair; alternatively, just eat them! You will get equally good results either way.
Like rosemary essential oil, another effective hair growth remedy, rosehip oil—derived from the rosehip herb cultivated mostly in Chile - also stimulates the growth of new strands when you apply it to your precious locks. It is also effective as a night-time facial moisturizer, and an anti-ageing skin-care remedy. It's also non-GMO, 100% organic and free of harmful parabens and other chemicals. Simply take a few drops, add to two tablespoons of shampoo, and shampoo your hair as usual. Alternatively, you can add rosehip oil to olive oil and massage the combination through your scalp.
Yes, bananas and avocados! This is another one that's a little out of left field, but blending bananas with avocado (and perhaps a little coconut oil for good measure) to create an all-natural hair mask makes for an exceptionally effective remedy for new hair growth. This is because bananas are rich in potassium, and other natural vitamins and oils that help to soften your hair thus preventing brittleness and breakage. Avocado, meanwhile, is rich in vitamins B and E, which strengthen your hair strands, repair damage to the scalp, and reverse hair loss. Simply add the mixture to your hair, leaving for 20 minutes before you wash it out.
Aloe Vera is best known as a skin care product, however it is equally good at preventing hair loss. Chock full of essential nutrients and enzymes that encourage the growth of new hair and condition hair leaving it silky and smooth - simply add a few tablespoons of aloe Vera to your regular shampoo and wash your hair as normal - you will quickly notice a big difference upstairs.

As hues of golden and amber slowly start to adorn Colorado, one can’t help but marvel at the magic of the crisp season; but there’s also a worrying thought that creeps in at the same time,
‘How to avoid dry skin this fall?’
Here we are with some Fall Skin Care Tips for dry skin to help us deal with these wild weather swings. With Colorado’s naturally dry climate, hydration, and especially skin hydration is a reoccurring problem for many. A number of people resort to products that may contain harmful chemicals, and which more often than not can cause side effects, such as redness, itching, and even blistering.
If you have sensitive and dry skin, don’t risk purchasing a product that your skin may not react to well; instead, try the following natural alternatives to prevent and soothe dry skin.
With central heating and the dry air of fall both drying out your skin, your skin loses a lot more moisture than warmer, more humid seasons. One of the best things you can do to help keep your skin supple is to use a humidifier in your bedroom while you sleep so your skin can heal and regain moisture. Yes, they take up space but your skin is definitely worth it, another great thing is to sleep with some eye masks, they will help hydrate your under eye as well.
We know, hot showers feel fantastic. But they dry out and irritate your skin to no end which is a big deal in the fall, when your skin is already drying out. So chill out with the hot showers and keep it shorter than normal to avoid dryness and irritation.
Extra tip: Soap also irritates and dries out the skin so only use it where it is essential (do we have to be specific?) and don't use soap over your entire body every time you shower. It won't clean your skin better, just irritate your skin more.
Jojoba Oil
Jojoba Oil is derived from the seed of the Simmondsia chinensis, also known as the Jojoba plant, which has been used in folk medicine for centuries.
One of the most beneficial properties of Jojoba Oil is that when applied to the skin, it creates a protective coat that prevents the skin’s natural moisture from escaping. Furthermore, it’s filled with a number of nourishing nutrients, and most importantly, with vitamin E that serves an antioxidant.
Jojoba Oil can be safely applied to the face and other body parts, leaving the skin refreshed and protected from cold. Apply as an all-over body moisturizer to keep your skin feeling fresh.
Pumpkin Seed Oil
Similarly to Jojoba Oil, Pumpkin Seed Oil is also filled with beneficial minerals that contribute to a fresh-looking nourished skin. Some of these include vitamin E, zinc, omega 3- and 6- fatty acids.
Its antioxidant properties help retain moisture, while fighting free radicals. Needless to say, it’s the perfect fall remedy for dry skin.
While Pumpkin Seed Oil can do marvels for dry skin when applied topically, pumpkin seeds can also contribute to healthier skin when eaten. Unprocessed nutritious food is essential for your health, in term of your inner physical wellbeing, as well as outer beauty, i.e. a young-looking fresh skin.
The holidays are full of sugary treats that can wreak havoc on your skin. Make sure to feed yourself healthy vegetables, fruits, grains, and meats to keep yourself nourished and happy with your healthy-looking skin.
It's nice to keep your house cozy and warm but if your skin is being exposed to temperature extremes, it can cause flushed skin and can even break blood vessels in the upper layers of your skin. Yikes!
Be sure to keep yourself warm with coats, hats, gloves, and scarves to keep your skin from feeling the extreme temperature changes from the outdoors to indoors.
Taking good care of your skin matters, so make sure you treat it with the best natural options this fall. Be sure to take good care of your skin, and avoid wrinkled hands, blisters, painful and peeling skin.
Got some more fall skin care tips for dry skin that we should know about? Leaven us a comment below!

When it comes to maintaining your beard, regular and good grooming practices are what truly make the difference.
Keeping a beard, in many ways, gives people a glimpse of your character, demeanor, self-assurance, and even style. As you look for fine examples of men who know what beard care is all about, American actor Chris Pine is a great candidate for whom you can heed advice from.
Here are his five tips for beard maintenance.
Use Beard Oil Regularly
Looking good means your beard is clean and presentable at all times especially when you travel. In an interview with W Magazine, the 37-year-old actor reveals that argan oil is an important part of his travel kit essentials.
Argan oil is known to have qualities that ward off skin ailments like acne and psoriasis, while it can also keep your facial hair moisturized. Just like Pine, it is imperative to consistently keep a certain indispensable beard routine no matter where you go.
Comb Your Beard
If you think you don’t have to comb your beard and just let it be, you’re mistaken. Beard combing can help you avoid ingrowing hairs if you thoroughly apply balms, oil, and other products of your preference.
In the same W Magazine interview, Pine notes that, like argan oil, a beard brush is another important piece of grooming kit to carry around.
Argan Oil is a key ingredient in Leven Rose's Ranger Grooming Company's premium beard oil.
Let It Grow
Here on Leven Rose we recommend growing out your beard for at least a month to make sure you have the desired length and volume. This will help the beard look more connected and less patchy.
Apparently, this is what Chris Pine loves about the whole thing and the one straightforward reason to why he prefers the unshaven look.
Pine revealed to Allure: “I like beards and the ease of them.”
Be Confident
If there is one attribute that goes with Chris Pine, it is confidence. Growing a beard takes a level of confidence as it can take a while for it to come to fruition and can be tricky to maintain. It takes a confident man to really own a beard.
Pine told People Style that having a beard means being comfortable in one's skin: “I find the ritual of shaving very relaxing, but for every day, it’s pretty irritating on my skin, so I like having the definition a beard gives.”
This confidence that Pine exudes is reflected in the roles he plays on screen. This is most notable in his role as Captain James Kirk in the rebooted Star Trek film series.
While the character is one of science fiction’s most self-assured characters, Pine also had to have the confidence to step into the shoes of previous Kirk, William Shatner. To get a sense of the task that Pine took on you only have to look at the impact the series has had on popular culture.
Star Trek is one of the very few sci-fi franchises to not only last as long as it has (it celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2016), but to also cross over into multiple entertainment mediums. It is a franchise that is constantly reinventing itself for new audiences. Star Trek Red Alert which is available on gaming portal Slingo takes famous elements of the Original Series and updates them for modern gaming, in the same way that Pine’s Trek films did in the film industry.
In many ways, Captain Kirk's confidence in himself is similar to how Pine carries his beard and has managed his career.
Gray Is Good
Follow Pine’s lead: when you see white hairs in your beard, be proud.
Pine also stressed to People Style that he has zero qualms about white hairs in his beard: “I’m enjoying the aging process and the gray hair and the wrinkles,” he says. “I have some white hairs coming in, so that gives it different colors, I guess. But, quite honestly, it’s just really f-king easy.”
So don’t be too quick to dye your beard, rather give it time and appreciate its unique character.

]]>This little seed has been a fan of ours all summer, and now that we’re getting into the colder seasons, it still has a spot on our beauty shelf.
Why? We have 8 MAH-velous reasons why and then some extra facts to make you swoon over this sweet-smelling skin treat.
Maybe you’re new to our blog, but we like talking about how our skin is our largest organ, and how what we put into our body is important along with what we put ON our body.
Oh, about 60% of what we put onto our skin gets absorbed into our systems.
You’ll see that our products are often identifiable from plants and fruits that you see on healthy eating lists too, making their cold-pressed seed counterparts great candidates for intense skin healing.
Red Raspberry Seeds are no different. We love the fruit for eating, and the seeds for moisturizing our skin!
We also believe strongly in protecting our skin from sun as well, so we made a blog about How to Make a Natural Sunscreen with Red Raspberry Seed Oil too.
Raspberries have a 50% higher antioxidant activity than strawberries, three times that of kiwis, and ten times that of tomatoes.
Love these little fruit super wonders!
Our 100% pure, organic Red Raspberry Seed Oil (Rubus Idaeus) maintains all of its vitamin benefits because it’s never been heated. Cold-pressing the seeds maintains the best integrity of the natural skin-boosting benefits, so always make sure that that’s what you’re using to get the max perks out of this list.
1. Daily UV-Blocker - Use Red Raspberry Seed Oil as a daily moisturizer as the first layer of defense before adding a daily sunscreen.
Why? It naturally absorbs UV-A and UV-B rays without any artificial chemicals. Make sure to hit your chest with this oil too - that area gets lots of sun and not much care! Check out our blog about its sun fighting power.
2. Anti-inflammatory Skin Healer - This little wonder boasts the highest content of any fruit seed for alpha linolenic acid, which is an anti-inflammatory agent. It also has some phytosterols, which is helpful for inflamed skin issues like eczema and psoriasis.
3. Sun Damage Restorer - These phytosterols do lots of good things, like also repairing skin after sun damage that we can’t even see.
Did you know that most sun damage isn’t visible?
And by the time we see it as sun spots, it’s gone a fair way, so best to start now doing some daily healing. Sun damage is also called photo-aging, which is a big no-no in the natural beauty realm.
4. Antioxidant Booster - Raspberry seeds have crazy high levels of Vitamin E, which is one of the more popular natural antioxidants.
Antioxidants fight free radicals and combat oxidative damage, which is a leading cause of skin cancer and premature aging.
5. Wrinkle Fighter - They also boast another antioxidant called ellegic acid, which prevents early wrinkles and boosts your skin’s natural collagen and elastin production, which makes your face look more youthful and firm.
6. Intense Moisturizer - Even though it smooths on nicely, it’s a very moisturizing oil. Use when your skin is especially dry in the fall and winter seasons when the air holds less moisture but the sun can still beat down (and we forget the need for sunscreen because we’re bundled up).
Those phytosterols are again known to reduce water loss on the skin, keeping you hydrated and moisturized for longer.
7. Acne Fighter - Let’s chat about omega-3 & -6 fatty acids. High levels of these acids have been shown to decrease inflammation and fight acne too.
It helps decrease an insulin-like growth factor and hyperkeratinization of your pores and follicles, improving dermatitis and acne.
8. Oil Production Controller - Using Red Raspberry Seed Oil everyday will balance out your skin’s natural oil production since it will notice that it’s already getting moisturized and receiving these benefits above.
Add to your hair regimen too - it will strengthen your hair, add shine, and fight split ends. Hair gets sun damage and dryness too!
HAIR & SCALP: Add a few drops to your favorite conditioner to soothe scalp and add shine to hair.
Or make into a scalp massage first, then pull through your hair 20 minutes before shampooing. (This will help you fight dandruff when it’s really dry outside!) Rub a drop or two into ends before blow drying.
SKIN: Rub a few drops onto dry and blemished skin to ease eczema, psoriasis, and to get all of the benefits above.
Apply as the first layer on your clean skin before applying any other products. If you’re using a natural floral toner, you can apply this first, and then apply the Red Raspberry Seed Oil.

It’s that time of year again. With Colorado temperatures in summer hitting the mid 90s, the chances are you’ll be suffering the effects of the hot sun. It’s easy to forget to use sun lotion and even a few minutes spent outdoors can start to damage skin, especially if you’re very pale.
Yet, chemical sunburn relief can often contain oxybenzone and methylisothiazolinone, which can cause skin allergies. If you find lotion or spray to be irritating to your skin, try these four homemade and natural sunburn remedies.
Almost every household has some milk around and this food item is an effective way to heal sunburn. Whether it’s from a cow or made of soy, milk can effectively relieve the pain of sunburn. It does this by utilizing protein to create a film on the skin and protect it from the elements.
Either yogurt or milk works great for this, just make sure that it’s cool, but not cold. Soak a compress in the cool milk and gently apply it to the affected area. This should quickly bring the heat down and form a protective layer to speed up the healing process.
Amazingly enough, potatoes act as a natural pain reliever for all kinds of minor scratches and skin damage. They may also help to fight inflammation.
Make sure to clean the potatoes thoroughly. Then simply grate slices and chunks into a bowl. Try and get as much juice out of the potato as possible as this is reportedly where the active pain reliever lies. If necessary, add a small amount of water to make the mixture more of a paste. You can also try using a blender for an even smoother finish.
You can then dip cotton balls into the mixture and apply it gently to the sunburnt skin. The coolness of the water should provide instant relief, while the potatoes themselves will begin to kill the pain.
Tea is a miracle ingredient known to help relieve the pain of many different ailments, aches and pains. Mint is particularly good for cooling down sunburnt skin. Try combining mint leaves with green tea because the green tea contains tannic acid and theobromine, which are known to be natural pain killers. They can also help wounds to heal.
This is also incredibly simple to make. Pour boiling water into a pan with the organic mint and green tea, then let it sit for a few minutes so that the water can absorb all that goodness. Strain the liquid into another container then leave in the fridge for at least an hour so that it can completely chill. Finally, dip cotton balls or a compress into the liquid and gently rub into the skin.
Sunburn remedies sold in pharmacies are often full of chemicals that you might not want on your skin. Furthermore, you may simply have none lying around. If you happen to have milk, potatoes or tea, then use these for natural and effective pain relief.
Jojoba Oil contains vitamin E, vitamin B complex, and fatty acids that simultaneously soothe irritation, prompt healing, and moisturize the skin. Jojoba Oil is excellent for cleansing sunburned skin when soaps are too harsh for the skin. Massage 2-3 drops onto your skin and then rinse off with warm water or gently wipe off with a warm wet cloth.
Rosehip Seed Oil is high in antioxidants which will fight the free radicals that cause long term skin damage and age spots. Additionally, Rosehip Oil encourages tissue regeneration due to the fatty acid and high vitamin C content. Studies have even found that Rosehip Seed Oil can help heal scars faster. Smooth into skin as needed.
If your skin is feeling very damaged, apply Emu Oil to naturally soothe the pain and inflammation. A powerful anti-inflammatory oil, Emu Oil is also well known for its ability to encourage healing of wounds and skin damage, minimizing the appearance of sun spots and scars. Smooth onto skin daily as needed.

]]>‘Tis the season when the leaves start changing. You’re packing away your swimming suits, and grabbing some layerable cardigans. Cinnamon might start sounding good. One of the clearest signs that autumn is coming is the Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte.
Soon, pumpkin is EVERYWHERE.
Pumpkin bars at the office, pumpkin candles at home, and of course pumpkin pie starts making an appearance at potlucks.
Well, we’ve been loving Pumpkin all year round . . . on our faces! The power of pumpkin has a not-so-hidden secret - it’s in its SEEDS. We’ll share a bit about why this seed packs a punch, and then how you can give yourself a new way to improve your skin this fall.
Health blogs have long touted the Pumpkin Seed as a powerhouse of nutrition. We believe in cold-pressing our oils, as you may know. So our Pumpkin Seed Oil maintains all of the skin-boosting and hair-smoothing benefits of each of these vitamins.
Pumpkin Seed Oil is chocked full of carotenoids such as lutein and beta-carotene, which is a form of Vitamin A. It also boasts a healthy Vitamin E load of both forms of Vitamin E, which are Tocopherols and Tocotrienols.
It also has Zinc, Omega-3 fatty acids, Omega-6 fatty acids, as well as antioxidants.
Pumpkin Seed Oil is not 100% fat, which is pretty uncommon with oils. It’s actually rich in amino acid proteins as well. No kidding.
Here are some of its nutrient acids:
Here are the vitamins:
By being so potent, it has a host of benefits for the skin for retaining moisture, fighting free radicals, and combating the signs of aging. It renews skin, evens skin tone, heals acne scars, and prevents breakouts.
Beta-Carotene (Vitamin A) - Carotenoids are one of the best things for skin, and studies have shown that it helps fight damage that can lead to skin cancer.
Zinc + Vitamin C - These 2 nutrients even out skin tone and balance complexions while increasing firmness.
Zinc + Selenium - This combo helps balance oily or combination complexions.
Amino Acid Proteins - Adds lustre and strength to brittle, thinning, and thin hair.
To boot, Pumpkin Seed Oil seems to inhibit the undesirable activities of the 5-alpha reductase enzyme (DHT), which is a leading cause of hair loss or thinning hair. Scalp massage sounding really good right now?
Pumpkin Seed Oil actually has some mild UV protection, so use this oil as a morning moisturizer even though you might not be sun worshipping as much as you did this summer. The sun is still out!
It makes for a great morning oil because it soaks in quickly. Smooth a few drops onto clean skin as the first moisturizing layer after you get out of the shower, or after toning with our pure Moroccan Rose Water Toner. Follow with a daily sunscreen.
Use as a weekly scalp massage for fuller, thicker, stronger hair. Leave on your scalp for 20 minutes and then pull through the rest of your locks for an oil treatment before showering.
Put a few drops in your shampoo or conditioner to lock in some moisturizing protection this season as the air gets drier.
To recap (and sneak in some more info), here is why we love this familiar seed for our beauty routines.
You should notice shinier locks, improved hair quality, as well as fewer split ends. Your skin cells should thank you with a vibrant and youthful glow with fewer breakouts, blemishes, or irritated skin.
Have you given Pumpkin Seed Oil a try? We’d love to hear your story!

As part of the natural aging process, collagen and elastin production gradually decreases. Eventually, this leads to skin that is loose, thin and dry.
Without the vital collagen and elastin proteins, the skin struggles to retain moisture and battle the elements. Because of this, your aging skin may be itchy, sensitive and prone to age spots and bruising, along with fine lines or wrinkles.
To prevent premature aging skin, wrinkles, and crepey skin, it is crucial to incorporate natural oils into a strict skin care regime each morning and evening.
As you age, your skin produces less of its natural oil, known as sebum. In the morning, you want to make sure your skin has enough moisture to carry it throughout the day.
Gently cleansing and moisturizing in the morning with a natural oil will be sure to help your skin keep up sebum production for fewer wrinkles and will help retain moisture in your skin during your day.
Each morning, begin your skin care routine by cleansing and toning the skin. Jojoba Oil is highly recommended for oil cleansing because of how closely its molecular structure mimics the skin's natural oil.
Jojoba Oil is packed full of fatty acids, triglycerides, wax esters and all of the vitamins necessary for maintaining healthy skin. Likewise, it acts as an antibacterial and antifungal agent to meticulously purify the skin.
After cleansing, follow up with a calming Rose Water Toner. Rose Water Toner naturally soothes any irritation and balances the pH of your skin. Read more about Rose Water here.
Green Coffee Bean Oil and Emu Oil are highly recommended moisturizers for aging skin.
Green Coffee Bean Oil has been shown to increase the amount of collagen and elastin produced by nearly two times the usual production rate when applied to aging skin. This, in turn, allows the skin to retain more moisture throughout the day while providing the skin with much-needed vitamin E, sterols and fatty acids. The combination of components in the oil is also helpful in treating age spots.
Emu Oil, on the other hand, absorbs into the skin quickly and closely mirrors the makeup of the top layer of human skin. It contains helpful agents such as vitamin A and oleic acid, which both aid in reducing the appearance of age spots and preventing bruising.
Apply 2-3 drops of either Green Coffee Bean Oil or Emu Oil to your skin as a skin-boosting moisturizer.
After your skin has spent a day exposed to sun, wind, pollution, and more, it needs to repair itself overnight. It's important to keep skin moisturized for this process because aging skin gradually loses keratin, a protein that helps prevent dehydration in the skin.
In the evening, you will need to repeat the cleansing and toning process. Make use of Jojoba Oil as a cleanser and Rose or Lavender Water as a toner. To learn which toner is the right one for you, learn more about our three floral toners for soothing and toning skin.
The numerous vitamins, including A, B1, B2, B6 and E, in Jojoba Oil, along with the fatty acids, aid in problems associated with oil production and dull or aging skin, while Rose or Lavender Water are refreshing toners that will soothe dry, itchy skin.
Before turning in for the night, apply Rosehip Seed Oil as your evening moisturizer. Rosehip Seed Oil is highly regarded for its ability to deeply penetrate the skin's numerous layers. As the Rosehip Seed Oil reaches the deeper layers, each layer benefits from vitamins A, B-carotene, C and D as well as fatty acids. The use of this miracle oil is also helpful in preventing age spots and reversing skin damage.

We all know that Blueberries are a powerhouse fruit when it comes to eating nutrient-dense food that promotes youthful, healthy skin. Did you know that the oil pressed from blueberry seeds is also fantastic for your skin when applied as a moisturizer?
Blueberries contain high amounts of antioxidants - the secret ingredient that makes your doctor recommend eating them - which means that it will prevent skin from prematurely aging.
Blueberry Seed Oil is produced by cold-pressing the seeds of blueberries. The high level of antioxidants, as well as its extended list of benefits and uses is what transforms this oil into a cosmetic superstar.
Classified as a carrier oil, Blueberry Seed Oil can be used on its own, or added as an emulsion to creams, lotions, balms, serums and hair products.
Rapid absorption.
The high levels of Phytosterols and vitamin E play a major factor when it comes to skin absorption. They produce a moisturizing effect that opens up the pores. Although high in healthy fatty acids, the oil is light and greaseless, having a low molecular composition.
Leven Rose Blueberry Seed Oil is a light blue and has a pleasant aroma due to the process of seed extraction which includes leaving some pulp on the seed when pressed.
The first use for Blueberry Seed Oil is as a moisturiser for your face and neck. Apply the amount needed by gently massaging it into the skin. It should sink in quickly and leave no greasy feeling on your skin.
The oil is also a great balm for irritated skin. Apply a small amount on the newly washed irritated area by slowly rubbing the oil into the skin until absorption.
Another use for the oil is to apply it on your skin liberally as a massaging agent. The smooth texture and the pleasant fragrance of the oil will relax the senses as well as muscle spasms.
Tip: Your scalp will also benefit from the use of Blueberry Seed Oil by simply massaging the oil with your fingertips. It can be applied to help fight the formation of dandruff before or after showering.
Since hair and nails are both composed of keratin, Blueberry Seed Oil can be an effective nail treatment. The antioxidants found in the oil stimulate the production of new cells, throughout all three stages of cell growth.
Use the oil on its own by applying a light coat of oil on your lips using your finger. It should be absorbed in a matter of minutes. Additionally, you can combine the oil with a lip balm in any ratio you see fit.
Let’s start with essential fatty acids (Omega 3 and 6):
The most abundant is linoleic acid which can make up to 53% of its composition, followed by linoleic acid with up to 32%. Oleic acid is also present, making up for up to 22% of the oil. Palmitic acid and searic acid can also be found in smaller amounts, between 1% to 5% of the total fatty acid composition.
Vitamin E is a remarkably abundant nutrient in Blueberry Seed Oil. Tocotrienols, a certain type of vitamin E abundant in this specific oil, is dubbed to be more potent than vitamin E itself in protection against environmental stress effects, it is known to be as effective as the cbd hemp oil which is also used to fight symptoms of stress, depression and anxiety, if you are interested on this products, visit the CBD advertising guide to learn more.
Phytosterols are also on top of the list for interesting compounds, with a staggering 580 mg per 100 grams. This is among the highest sterol concentration when it comes to oils, even surpassing soybean oil. Acting as anti-inflammatory agents, Phytosterols help skin repair itself, and have a moisturising effect by reducing the trans-dermal water loss.
Another active ingredient found in large quantity in Blueberry Seed Oil is squalene, which helps cracked skin regenerate and prevent UV damage to the skin.
Other compounds worth mentioning are anthocyanins and carotenoids that, although not as abundant as the ones mentioned above, still have the synergic effect of turning the oil into a powerful anti-oxidant.
Blueberry extra:
The most common species of blueberry is Vaccinium corymbosum, which is native to North America and was not introduced into Europe until 1930’s. If you have those blueberries sitting in your fridge, consider make an Argan Oil Blueberry Face Mask with those blueberries that are too old to eat but too good to throw out.

It's amazing to consider the many dimensions of beards. A beard can be a conversation piece, an attention-getter, a sun blocker and a provider of warmth.
It can also lend a face extra depth and personality.
Contrary to popular belief, a great beard doesn't magically happen. True, your face does most of the growing work. However, it requires special care.
Beard neglect can make your beard look and feel untidy, itchy, and dirty - it may even convince you to shave. No one wants that for your beard so we pulled together some ways you can err in beard growing and to let you know how to make your beard look better than ever, just remember to check the at home laser hair removal machine reviews.
In 2015, at the behest of a local news station, New Mexico microbiologist John Golobic tested random samplings of beard hair. Golobic reported that some of the subjects had potentially harmful bacteria in their facial hair, microbes that could cause infections. Your girlfriend won't be so happy to hear that and you shouldn't be either.
DON'T wash your beard with shampoo or body soap or avoid washing it. Shampoo and body soap can dry out your beard and even damage your face and beard-growth while not washing your beard can result in dirt buildup, breakouts, and beard-druff, check more tips to stop Struggling to know how to make beard stop itching from home
DO rinse your beard every day and use a gentle soap made for beards.
Dr. Allan Peterkin, an author and facial hair expert, warns of the dangers of not moisturizing beards, he recommend an expert who knows about skincare you can find out about Touch Up Laser. Peterkin says that, without hydration, a beard can rapidly age the skin. Plus, a dry beard can trigger the body to release extra oil, which can result in pimples, angry itchy skin, and coarse beard hairs.
DON'T moisturize your beard with body lotion or forget to moisturize.
DO rub in a few drops of a high-quality beard oil each day to rejuvenate your face and neck. It will make your beard softer and more lustrous.
Wild beards are a challenge for many men, making them want to reach for their nearest hair comb or razor.
DON'T choose a comb or brush that is made of plastic. They can entangle, snag your beard, cause split ends and breakage that will make your beard look even wilder.
DO use a good beard comb, such as those made of wood, bone or acetate. They will keep your facial oil from sitting on the skin and will reduce breakouts. Find a boars hair beard brush for your beard to smooth the beard, exfoliate your skin (reducing breakouts and beard-druff), and to gently detangle your beard.
Alex Glover, master barber at the esteemed Murdock London, recommends that to make your beard look fuller, trim your beard to be thinnest near your ears and fullest around your lower jaw. Your beard hairs will all grow at different rates. Some men report the upper lip being the slowest rate of growth while the cheeks as the fastest growth rate. Whatever your beard growth rate, you'll want to think about trimming.
DON'T wait until your beard is the length you want before you start trimming.
DO trim as your beard grows to maintain an even length, remembering to keep the area a near the ears shorter than the rest of the beard.
Ingrown beard hairs can cause pain and reddening but often men will leave them, thinking it is a pimple or that it will go away with time. These ingrown hairs can become infected and lead to scarring.
DON'T pull out ingrown hairs from the tip of the hair or avoid pulling out ingrown hairs.
DO take out such a hair with a sterilized tweezer as soon as you notice it. Barber Nick Wendel of The Blind Barber, an acclaimed New York City establishment, advises softening the offending hair with a warm cloth and rubbing it with alcohol and then pulling the hair out from the bottom so it comes out in one piece.
When you decide to grow out a beard or you've had a beard for a while, you should look into various beard styles to discover what works for your beard growth pattern to make your beard look fuller.
DON'T grow out your beard without a plan. We know, No Shave November is awesome but if you want a beard all year-round, you should have a style in mind that you like.
DO find a style that makes you, and your beard, look its best. Simply use a razor and some shave oil to take off the facial hair that you don't want and enjoy your beard.
Although there are numerous styles you can choose from, here are a few beards we've compiled for men with various beard growth patterns.
Full beard: Even if you have some patchiness in your beard, as you grow it longer the beard will cover up some of the patchiness and, if you build up slowly, trimming as you go, you can also shave any patches that are outside of your beard line so that it won't look like you've suddenly gone wolverine. Check out our awesome shave oils that guarantee a smoother shave for you.
Short full beard: If you like growing a beard but you don't feel confident you could grow a thick enough beard to make it look full (or you don't like eating your beard), just give it a trim to your desired length every two weeks.
Detached beard and mustache: Let's face it, sometimes our faces won't grow enough beard to make the beard and 'stache one item. Don't give up on your beard though! You can still look great with a beard-mustache combo. Try out a beard wax that will help you with better shaping your 'stache.
Van Dyke: Got plenty of facial hair around your mouth but it doesn't look to great on your cheeks? Try a classic Van Dyke look with a connected mustache and beard but no beard on the cheeks or toward the ears.
Stubble: If your boss doesn't allow full beards or you aren't quite confident in your facial hair, stubble is an excellent alternative. In a 2012 study, researchers at the University of New South Wales concluded that most women prefer it to completely clean-shaven faces.
Go out and research more beards that would look great on you and hit us up on social media! We'd love to see how your beard is growing.
In the end, it's best to think of your beard as constantly growing and evolving. Remember to take care of your beard because when you know how to treat it right, you can count on having facial hair that's soft, strong, clean and positively glowing.
BE A MAN. LOVE YOUR BEARD.

Every summer, it seems there’s always one day or one event that can get past your ever-trusty SPF sunscreen.
Maybe it’s not an all-over burn, but every time just part of your skin gets burned, it can have lasting skin damage. Lasting skin damage means premature aging, which is something we always want to combat.
The skinny on it is that sunburn is a radiation burn - a scalding of living tissue from the harmful effects of UV rays. When it's too much, it turns red and painful. When it's a lesser burn, it can tan.
But it doesn't change the effect of the underlying damage from the UV rays that can turn into skin cancer and premature aging. Even if you tan, and it prevents you from getting more sunburned, what your skin is doing is creating more melanin, which is your skin's pigment protection (aka, natural defense) against overexposure.
Bad news alert - tanning isn't good either.
Either way, both tanning (melanin production) and sunburning (overexposure) are a response by your body that you're having direct DNA damage from the sun's UV rays. That cell death means your skin changes and the skin is replaced either by peeling or tanning. Not ideal for a long-term ageless look.
That's why we always recommend staying out of the sun for long periods of time and using a sunscreen. Here's a recipe we've heard a lot about for natural sunscreen that blocks some of those damaging UV rays.
SNEAK PEEK: We're going to be talking about how you can use Lavender Water, Rosehip Seed Oil, Jojoba Oil, and Emu Oil to get you on the road to recovery pronto.
The American Academy of Dermatology says that it's common for people to reach for pain relief when they feel the burn, but to not go the local anesthetics route, like benzocaine, which is a leading ingredient in sun recovery gels.
Other studies that topical steroids like hydrocortisone cream might help you feel better, it's not actually better for your skin.
Interestingly enough, studies have shown that your diet before, after, and during can help speed in your recovery with how choked full of antioxidants you are! (Sound familiar? Antioxidants are some of our favs that we talk about all the time.)
If you are doing well on the Vitamin C, E, and A (beta carotene) train, it could help you heal faster and protect you a bit from future exposure as well.
We know that 60% of what we put onto our skin gets absorbed into our bloodstream, which is why natural is so important. And damaged skin needs those natural vitamins just like our system does to help us recover from the radiation burn.
Cold-pressed oils and natural toners with no chemicals help our body, our largest organ, take up and absorb those benefits naturally. Hitting your skin when it's down with chemicals is counterproductive in the long run and ends up being more agitating.
As always, consult a physician if you have really bad burns or special skin conditions. For us, we believe in the natural route.
Here is what we recommend for toning down redness, irritation, dryness, and peeling and giving your skin the best chances at healing:
1. Mist Lavender Water to calm splotchy, irritated skin.
2. Massage Rosehip Seed Oil on every night and throughout the day to minimize long-term damage.
3. Use the Oil Cleansing Method to stay away from chemicals while your skin is healing.
Check out the why and how to below for each of these potent but natural solutions.
Misting with Lavender Water when you see your red splotches show up will give you a peaceful pH balancing calm. Keep it in the fridge over the summer for an extra cooling treat.
It's a heavier oil that your skin will still soak up when damaged, giving it needed moisture and the vitamins it wants to heal at a deeper dermal level.
Keep oils close when healing! Even when you're washing your face.
TIP: Need an extra dose of sun help? (Especially if it's SUPER painful.)
Massaging Emu Oil onto especially red and sore places will help ease the pain and heal the lower skin levels. Emu Oil's molecular structure allows it to soak into a deeper dermis level to heal scars, ease pain, and limit intense damage. Check out our blog on Emu Oil's healing power here.

Rosacea is a chronic disease that most commonly affects the skin on the face. It is caused by blood flow to the surface of the skin and characterized by redness, bumps, pimples and, in some instances, thickened skin.
Approximately 14 million people in the United States alone suffer from rosacea.
Aside from the noticeable facial irritation, sufferers often experience burning and stinging sensations, along with tightness, swelling and itchiness.
Experts have not yet pinpointed the reason rosacea happens but know that some activities and foods can cause flare-ups. While there are prescription medications and creams on the market to treat rosacea, many prescriptions and creams contain chemicals that cause more irritation to sensitive skin.
Many individuals have reported great success in managing their rosacea by adding natural oils to their morning and evening skincare routines. These oils are much closer to the oil (sebum) produced by the skin and are much less irritating than chemical-based treatment products on the market.
Jojoba Oil is an extremely gentle oil that has antibacterial and anti-fungal properties; making it optimal for cleansing skin affected by rosacea. The oil is also full of vitamins and fatty acids, which act as an anti-inflammatory to reduce redness and swelling throughout the day. To cleanse your skin, massage a small amount of Jojoba Oil into the skin and then rinse it away with warm water.
Afterwards, pat the face dry and apply a small amount of Jojoba Oil as a facial moisturizer to allow your skin to retain more of its own natural moisture while continuing to provide the skin with all the beneficial properties of the oil.
For a natural boost to the eye area find Effective Eye Health Products, which is also often affected by rosacea, massage Green Coffee Bean Oil under the eyes. The caffeine in the oil aids in stimulating collagen and elastin production while reducing the appearance of puffy, tired eyes.
What a terrific product! I have recently learned I have rosacea. I began researching methods to eliminate symptoms and discovered the benefits of jojoba oil. This month I began incorporating it into my skin care routine. My skin is responding beautifully. I can't recommend Leven Rose more highly.
- Sapeta416 (April 2015)
I love this Jojoba! I ordered it as a carrier oil for some blends I made. I have been using this oil on my face daily after showering and it has helped tremendously with my rosacea. I will definitely keep this on hand at all times!
- Erin E. (June 2016)
Love it. My skin looks glowing and feels so good. I have rosacea so my skin is extremely irritable and easily irritated this jojoba oil has helped so much. Its calmed down the redness. It does not leave my skin greasy feeling at all.
- Byescoffeyon (November 2016)
I love my Jojoba Oil. I have rosacea and it has helped to calm that greatly. My skin it clearer than it has been in years. I have also been using it as a base oil for my essential oils and been very happy with the results.
- ByKate (January 2016)
Before turning in for the night, remove makeup from your face by dropping a few drops of Jojoba Oil onto a cotton ball and gently rubbing it over the areas where makeup was applied.
Once your makeup has been adequately removed, cleanse the face with Moringa Oil and a warm washcloth. Moringa Oil (or Oen oil) contains anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory agents, providing both a cleansing and soothing effect.
Next, pat the skin dry and mist it with Orange Blossom (Neroli) Water. The anti-inflammatory agents and a refreshing composition of Neroli Water soothes and calms irritated skin. For intensive healing and moisturizing, apply 2-3 drops of Rosehip Night Serum to your face. This deeply moisturizing serum contains vitamins A, B carotene, C, D and E to repair the skin and ward off signs of premature aging.
The Rosehip Oil in the serum is rich in vitamins and essential fatty acids, which have an incredible ability to repair and regenerate the skin. In addition to these remarkable abilities, the oil provides a calming effect with its anti-inflammatory agents.
Apply to the affected area each morning or as the flare-up occurs for best results.
Although the actual cause of rosacea is still unknown, there are some observable causes of flare-ups. Avoiding these activities as much as possible lowers the blood flow to your face and can help avoid flare-ups.

Maintaining a manly mane is a trademark of the modern alpha male.
A beard radiates confidence, demands respect and admiration, and highlights your debonair personality to the rest of the world. Additionally, a well-kept beard is the perfect addition to any clothing ensemble, able to bring a business suit to a completely new level, and turn every head at a casual Friday night out.
While nurturing and maintaining beard quality, shape and shine with a careful selection of products is a must, you want to maximize its growth and thickness potential by using natural means you have at your disposal.
Plenty of lifestyle choices and factors will affect the growth and structure of your facial hair, and while genetics is something you cannot change, you can certainly influence it with a few simple, yet effective lifestyle habits.
While nutrition and proper recovery also play their roles in beard growth, it is regular physical exercise that will be the key determining factor deciding on the growth rate, structure, and quality of your mane.
More on nutrition and sleep a bit later, for now, let’s stick to exercise. Physical activity is recognized by the scientific community as a rare natural testosterone boosters, as regular exercise prompts production of the male hormone responsible for maintaining almost every healthy function in your body - including growing a thicker beard.
The premise is quite simple: testosterone is directly correlated with hair thickness and growth, as well as being beneficial to skin quality, shine and supporting a vibrant complexion to complement your facial hair.
People of all ages can benefit from physical exercise in numerous ways, and in case you are not the fitness type, you will want to ease into your workout regime and get familiar with the basics of exercise, learning how to maximize the health benefits of your training split one day at a time.
No matter the training method you opt for, whether it is running, cycling, pumping iron or free climbing, you want to always adhere to the following rule that will allow you to constantly promote beard growth: progressive overload.
Progressive overload simply means that you want to present your body with new, bigger challenges every week in order to make it grow, increase testosterone production, and thus become stronger and healthier.
Additionally, you want to choose the right exercises to help you achieve your bearded goals in a shorter amount of time. Movements that are multi-joint and multi-functional, involving the lower body predominantly, are excellent exercises for boosting your testosterone production.
These exercises include:
Moreover, not only are lower body exercises, paired with upper body training, beneficial for testosterone production and beard growth, they are also extremely important for your overall health and wellbeing.
Don’t forget to utilize challenging movements for maximum testosterone levels, nervous system strength, muscle growth and bone density.
The final pieces of the beard-growing puzzle are proper rest and a healthy diet.
Sleep plays a pivotal role in body regeneration, helping your muscles recover, boosting your immune system, and promoting healthy bodily functions by spiking your HGH (human growth hormone) levels and allowing you to maintain peak testosterone levels throughout the day.
Likewise, nutrition is also a crucial element that will increase the effectiveness of your workouts and promote a healthy lifestyle. A balanced, protein-rich diet free of any junk foods, processed meats, sweets or condiments restricts estrogen production and increases your testosterone levels in addition to your training regime.
You can easily calculate your daily macronutrient needs via an online calculator, allowing you to tailor your diet around healthy foods and develop a strong physique to complement the length, health, density and thickness of your new beard.
Everyone wants to grow a strong, shiny beard worthy of a Viking himself, however many people feel discouraged to pursue their dreams because they believe they do not have what it takes to live a true beardsman’s lifestyle.
While genetics will play a significant role in the growth and quality of your beard, you can dramatically influence it by following these guidelines, thus increasing your natural potential to grow a bigger beard and achieving your dreams.
So get off your butt, grab some weights and give your beard the fuel it needs to grow thick and strong!

Maracuja Oil, also known as Passion Fruit Seed Oil, is extracted from the seeds of Passiflora edulis fruit. It's getting some raving fan attention in the beauty community.
The oil extracted from those seeds is yellow and vibrant in color, being first discovered and used by the Aztec civilization and some Amazon tribes for its various healing and curative proprieties.
Nowadays, Maracuja Oil is regarding as one of the top natural products for skincare, due to its powerful containing nutrients, and the fact that it feels light on your skin, without the buttery smear feeling. It also softens and protects hair from daily heat.
Maracuja Oil contains over 70% linoleic acid and other beneficial acids from the fatty acid family, such as palmitic acid and oleic acid which makes up for more than 95% its constituent ingredients. In plain terms, it's got the right mix of fatty acids to get you some noticeable results.
Also known as Vitamin F, linoleic acid is a polyunsaturated omega-6 fatty acid. It belongs to one of the two families of essential fatty-acids because the human body cannot synthesize it from other food components. Its skincare proprieties is one of the main factors for the potency of Maracuja Oil when it comes to dermatological conditions.
Hydration: Due to its high absorbance rate, your skin will soak in the oil quickly, without the feeling of grease and heavy substance on your skin. This will help keep dry, flaky patches at bay. (Plus, it smells amazing.)
Anti-Aging: Your skin will look and feel firm and youthful, the contributing factors being the high dose of Vitamin C, as well as the other blend of potent antioxidants. We've heard real life stories of visible changes within a week of daily use.
Rejuvenation: Vitamin A, alongside the other carotenoids, will reduce the appearance of wrinkles and soft lines, leaving a smoother, luminous skin.
Roundness: The high content of fatty acids will give a smooth texture to the superior derma, making your skin look firmer and regain its elasticity.
Protection: Outside factors, such as pollution, sun and wind exposure will have a definite lesser impact on your skin, due to the protecting factor contained in Maracuja Oil. It's a way to naturally lock in moisture to your skin while combating the daily attack from the outside world.
As one of the best natural sources of linoleic acid available on the market, Maracuja Oil is believed to have a vaster array of benefits than the one mentioned above.
Some more great perks:
Anti-itching – assuages skin itchiness
Anti-inflammatory- reduces inflammation
Anti-stress – stress relieving effect on skin, try using some budsandblossoms products
Studies have shown that passion fruit seed oil can stimulate the production of fibroblasts, which are the cells that generate collagen.
By using the stable free radical diphenylpicrylhydrazyl (EC 50) as a measuring point, Maracuja Oil contains approximately 7 mg per ml of EC 50. Without getting too nerdy, Maracuja Oil is dubbed as a powerful antioxidant on the scale of oxygen radical absorbance capacity.
It’s no wonder, since an entire blend of antioxidant factors can be found in its structure, including vitamins A, vitamin C, riboflavin, niacin, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, copper, fibers, and protein.
The high content of carotenoids (especially lycopene) and phenols, makes the oil an excellent product when it comes to protecting and mildly repairing sensitive skin from sun damage. Applied directly on the damaged regions, the oil will penetrate into the skin and prevent moisture from leaking out.
Applying maracuja oil to your hair and nails is purported to regenerate and promote the growth of keratin layers, the main component of hair and nails. Moderate amounts can be applied to the scalp/or hair straight after washing, aiding in the treatment of dry or damaged hair.
Use the dropper to take a dime-sized drop. Apply it on your skin and gently rub it into the skin region that needs attention. It should be absorbed almost instantly. It's great for mixing with other oils but does not need to be diluted.
Your old tattoo can regain its brightness with just a dab of Maracuja Oil. Apply it on the tattoo to keep the skin hydrated and moisturized. This will brighten up the skin and give a new fresh look to your tattoo.

If you are an avid fan of natural cosmetics or aromatherapy, chances are that you have frequently heard the terms carrier oils and essential oils used together. You may have even assumed that the two could be used interchangeably. While both are used in holistic products and practices, they are actually quite different. It is crucial to understand these differences to ensure proper usage.
The oil is derived from the fatty portion of a nut, seed, fruit or kernel of a vegetable or other plant using one of two main methods of extraction: maceration or cold-pressing. Maceration is a method that involves placing a dry plant in warm oil to extract the properties of the desired plant. Cold-pressing, however, is the preferred method.
Cold-pressed carrier oils use expeller pressing, which consists of pressing the nut, seed, fruit or kernel at temperatures under 122 degrees Fahrenheit to extract oils. Cold-pressing preserves more of the desirable properties of the plant than other methods. The extracted cold-pressed carrier oils are suitable for direct skin application and can be used with essential oils to dilute essential oils.
Some of the most common carrier oils include: Olive, Argan, Coconut, Jojoba, Pomegranate, Sweet Almond, Carrot Seed, Grape Seed, Moringa, and Rosehip Seed Oils.
Essential oils are more concentrated than carrier oils and are often too strong to apply directly to the skin. Because of this, they are frequently used in aromatherapy but must be diluted with a carrier oil or water for most other purposes. To extract the potent oil, a process known as steam distillation is used.
This method involves suspending plants over boiling water to draw out the oils into the steam, which is captured in a vessel. The steam cools as it works its way through tubing; condensing the steam back into water. The oils do not mix with water and the two separate to create essential oils and hydrosols. Learn how to use Essential Oils here.
Common essential oils include: Lavender, Lemongrass, Peppermint, Eucalyptus and Tea Tree Oils, along with many others.
Hydrosols, more commonly known as floral toners, are also frequently mentioned in discussions of carrier oils and essential oils. This is due to the fact that hydrosols are simply the water that remains after the steam distillation process in essential oil extraction. This water is aromatic and contains the properties and nutrients of the plant used in creating the essential oil.
Because these qualities exist in water, they are already diluted and are less harsh than the concentrated oils created through the process. This makes hydrosols ideal for direct application to the skin. Did you know floral toners naturally balance your skin's pH? It's true! Read more about floral toners.
Hydrosols that are used for this purpose include: Rose Water, Lavender Water, Orange Blossom Water and German Chamomile water.

It's no secret that the chemicals in most standard beauty products are damaging to our overall health. And sunscreens are no exception! Chemical-laden sunscreens are also contributing to the deterioration of our coral reefs. Learn how to make natural sunscreen with Raspberry Seed Oil and Carrot Seed Oil from home this summer.
There are numerous reasons why the natural beauty community has been going out of the way to find natural alternatives to the manufactured products sold in stores.
THE GOOD NEWS is that we're getting lots of stories of DIY recipes working! And our customers love them. We've got some real life stories farther down below.
Their stories share about how they've been using natural sunscreens for day-to-day activities, such as gardening and picnics in the park. And the best recipes incorporate two of our most popular products, Red Raspberry Seed Oil and Carrot Seed Oil.
Open Disclaimer - There are still many unknowns about whether or not homemade sunscreens work as well as commercial brands. Proceed with caution and make sure you're doing small tests first.
We always encourage best practices in the sun such as:
The safest option is to do a small skin test for a short period of time in the sun and see how your skin likes it. Always stop using a homemade recipe if your skin doesn't respond positively in any way.
Red Raspberry Seed Oil is a cold-pressed oil with a slew of incredible benefits for your skin:
Red Raspberry Seed Oil has 83% Essential Fatty Acids, which are vital to proper skin function. They improve the rate of repair, moisturization, immunity, anti-inflammatory activity, and so much more.
Vitamin E is an anti-aging godsend that protects your cells from those nasty free radicals that cause wrinkles, loss of elasticity, and age spots.
Red Raspberry Seed Oil has Polyphenols which protect your skin from Ultraviolet Radiation (sun protection!) and enhance cell regeneration, which improves tone and elasticity.
A study in 2000 showed that Raspberry Seed Oil has UVA and UVB protection similar to titanium dioxide, which is around 28-50 for UVB rays and 8 for UVA! Not too far off from what you can find in stores.
To be clear, the number next to SPF is a multiplier on the amount of time it takes to turn red in the sun. So, if you naturally turn red in 20 minutes, SPF 15 will protect you for 15x as long – 5 hours!
SPF Percentages
Another way to look at it is as a percentage. SPF 15 filters out around 93% of UVB rays, SPF 30 keeps out 97%, and 50 keeps away 98%. These may seem small, but if you have any sensitivity to light or a history of skin cancer in your family... it's huge.
One of our customers, Brandy Fitch, says:
“(I) have used the lovely pink raspberry oil for a month now and stopped wearing makeup. I put Lavender oil in it and my skin has even tone and brightness with a warm glow. I live in AZ and haven't noticed any sun burn on my face from driving or yard work and I am not putting sunscreen on. Will be buying more soon!”
Carrot Seed Oil, also a cold-pressed oil, has many similar benefits as Red Raspberry Seed Oil, as well as a few extra: Great Moisturizer Carrot Seed Oil has a ton of skin health benefits, not the least of which is as a natural moisturizer. A little goes a long way!
Carrot Seed Oil is known to nourish, tighten, and rejuvenate your skin, even as far as aiding recovery of healing abscesses, boils, or other skin disorders.
Terri T, one of our customers, said:
“I use this product in organic sunscreen...adds great skin softness and also protection from the sun...great product!!”
Using them on their own is wonderful, but here's a great recipe we've found to transform them into a healthy, chemical-free sunscreen.
Keep reading to see our favorite sunscreen recipe below!
The most popular formula our customers have used in the past involve 3 main ingredients:
Zinc Oxide Powder is a long-standing natural sunblock, lovingly known as “Surfing's original sunscreen.” If you've ever seen a picture of a surfer with a thick white substance all over their face, you've seen Zinc Oxide.
Anyway, here's a slight variation on a popular recipe from Wellness Mama, which you can customize with different essential oils! (Just avoid any citrus additions, as it increases sun sensitivity.) Be sure to read Wellness Mama's article on some other cool facts related to this great recipe.
With this recipe, you now can make your own healthy, natural sunscreen for all occasions.
As always, we urge you to use extra caution with this. Don't spend a long time in the sun and don't use it on children without consulting a pediatrician first. Our customers have loved these products, but it's important to play it safe.
Hope you enjoy the summer weather and fun times in the sun! Let us know in the comments how you like this sunscreen recipe and what's worked for you.
* Important Disclaimer: Always check with your doctor if you have any skin conditions before trying new homemade blends. Also, sunscreens are considered a pharmaceutical product and as such, are regulated. The ingredients in chemical-based sunscreens will provide some different benefits over simple natural blends so it's always wise to do your own research. Not all harmful effects of the sun may be covered by various homemade recipes, the one shared above included. Sun damage can still make you prone to cancer, so taking an active stance on your skin's health is always important!

No need to scratch your beard to figure out why you’re here.
Regardless if you just heard of Beard Balm and Beard Wax, or you’re a seasoned vet in using both, the following shot of manly info will help you make your beard look and feel even more amazing than it already is. Hard to believe, but true.
Ingrown beard hairs can cause pain and reddening but often men will leave them, thinking it is a pimple or that it will go away with time. You can use a Home waxing kit for hair removal to remove any ingrown hairs, these ingrown hairs can become infected and lead to scarring.
DON’T pull out ingrown hairs from the tip of the hair or avoid pulling out ingrown hairs.
DO take out such a hair with a sterilized tweezer as soon as you notice it. Barber Nick Wendel of The Blind Barber, an acclaimed New York City establishment, advises softening the offending hair with a warm cloth and rubbing it with alcohol and then pulling the hair out from the bottom so it comes out in one piece
Beard Balm and Beard Wax, alongside Beard Oil form the essential trio for grooming products for your beard. Every well-groomed beard out there has a daily encounter with at least one of those products, while many great beards benefit from all three products.
While with Beard Oil things are quite clear, there is sometimes a confusion between Beard Balm and Beard Wax. Although both have beeswax as one of their ingredients, these two grooming products serve slightly different purposes.
Here is a blog we wrote on How to Use Beard Oil to check out too.
Beard Balm comes in a tin and is a thick but pliable consistency. Think of Beard Balm as a mild styling agent and as a way to nourish your beard and skin.
A good beard balm should be made without fillers, additives, or parabens. Natural oils such as Olive oil, Coconut oil, Argan oil and Jojoba oil are trademarks of a quality Beard Balm.
As previously mentioned, a Beard Balm should also relieve the feeling of itchiness, besides nourishing and giving a nice contour to your beard.
It’s all due to the sebaceous glands that create a natural oil called sebum which acts as a coating agent for your hair follicles and skin, while your beard grows. Yet, while the facial hair grows and turns into a handsome beard, the amount of sebum secreted by your sebaceous glands remains constant, causing the your skin to become dry and itchy.
Simply said, your sebaceous glands just can’t secrete enough sebum to keep up with your beard. That's where Beard Balm and Beard Oil get involved. Beard Balm and Beard Wax are the team that keeps it shaped and smooth.
Beard Balms condition your skin to keep it healthy while the extra moisture will prevent itching. Always choose a product that contains a healthy mixture of all-natural oils that will complete your sebum generation.
Still, just like Beard Balm, you might want to take it in steps when applying Beard Wax for the first time.
For the latter category, the quantity of Beard Wax used can be quite astounding. Nothing to worry about though, since genuine Beard Wax is all-natural, your skin will stay healthy even if your beard becomes art.
It all depends on your purpose and also on the size of your beard. Some beards enjoy both, especially if you're sporting a mustache too.
At the end of the day, the beard grooming products you use are your choice. You are a man’s man and no article in the world will determine you to do one thing or the other.
Just remember that behind every great beard there’s a great, all natural grooming product.
Here’s an easy way to remember the different uses of Beard Oil, Balm and Wax:

Carrier oils can protect your skin, keep away wrinkles, clear away pimples and supply you with nutrients. They're the perfect way to create an all natural beauty routine. And, when you're in the habit of using them, they're a daily delight, like sipping hot coffee or hugging your dog.
Here are five simple, effective ways to add oils to your routine, and please don't forget that for a healthier lifestyle you can always check out these clean living products, I assure you they will help you out achieve your dream healthy lifestyle.
Leven Rose Jojoba Oil, which is completely organic, cleans skin and kills bacteria. On top of that, it's packed with zinc, copper, vitamin E and other health-giving substances.
Each morning, rub a few drops of this oil into your face to cleanse your face from the buildup of dirt and bacteria accumulated while you slept, then rinse your face with warm water and gently pat your face dry.
Another lovely morning ritual is using floral waters. Also known as hydrosols or toning waters, these liquids can reduce inflammation and heal wounds.
Once you've cleansed your face and patted it dry, you can use a cloth or a cotton ball to rub in several drops of Rose Water, Neroli Water or Lavender Water. Rose Water by Leven Rose comes with a mist top so you can mist it onto your face.
Also, Lavender Water is especially soothing if your skin is sensitive or red.
Next, spread two to four drops of Carrot Seed Oil, Sea Buckthorn Seed Oil or Pumpkin Seed Oil on your face and neck. Carrot Seed Oil in particular is highly recommended as a moisturizer. Made from Queen Anne's Lace, it provides some UV protection. Therefore, you can put it on before your daily natural sunscreen.
Are you having trouble keeping your poor eyes open? When you gently apply one or two drops of Coffee Bean Oil around them, caffeine will seep into your system and help your tired eyes stay open. How's that for a boost to your natural beauty routine?
You've returned home after a long day. Before you kick those feet up, pull out the Jojoba Oil again.
Wash off your makeup with water or use a makeup wipe. Then, rinse your skin with cold water. It'll close your pores so they won't take in dust and other particles overnight.
For eye makeup, use 3-4 drops of Jojoba Oil on a cloth or cotton ball. Close one eye, gently press the remover against it and hold it there a moment. Rinse your eye and repeat these steps with the other eye.
Rosehip Oil has powerful nourishing and moisturizing qualities. After applying your regular moisturizer, rub it into your neck and face. How many drops should you use? Try two for oily skin, five or six for dry skin and three or four for skin that's neither oily nor dry.
As a bonus tip, Argan Oil is ideal for pre-blowout treatments, taming flyaways, easing sensitive skin ― it's non-comedogenic ― and attaining smoothness all over. It's the perfect extra to add to your natural beauty routine.
Whether it's a workday or a day off, oils can give you a joyful start and a peaceful finish. They'll revitalize your body, clear your mind and lift your spirits.

Protecting your skin from sun damage is not something to shrug off and save for later.
Jyotsna A. Saonere Suryawanshi, Department of Pharmacy lecturer at Government Polytechnic, states that, "Exposure of skin to sunlight and other atmospheric conditions causes production of reactive oxygen species, which can react with DNA, protein and fatty acids, causing oxidative damage and impairment of [the] antioxidant system."
You can experience sun damage regardless of your age and skin tone. Read on for ways to help keep your skin sun-safe using natural oils.
Start your morning with a cleansing face wash to remove impurities and excess oils released during sleep. To add natural UV protection and improve skin health, use one or more of Red Raspberry Seed Oil, Pumpkin Seed Oil, Carrot Seed Oil or Sea Buckthorn Seed Oil as a base layer to promote healing and act as a buffer. Then apply a natural sunscreen as a top layer to give you complete broad-spectrum sun protection.
Another study, published in 2011 in Pharmacognosy Reviews, supports using seed oils as sun protection. They state, "Herbal sunscreens are rapidly replacing modern sunscreens containing UV filters due to associated side effects with UV filters. Also, there are plants available that have given indications of protecting themselves from intense heat and UV radiation from the sun, and they are interesting for researchers."
Protect your skin from sun damage by using these oils and benefit from their fantastic naturally-occurring nutrients.
Red Raspberry Seed Oil has vitamin E, essential fatty acids and antioxidants.
Pumpkin Seed Oil has minerals like magnesium and zinc, vitamins A and E, antioxidants and essential fatty acids.
Carrot Seed Oil has carotene, vitamin A and antioxidants for anti-aging.
Sea Buckthorn Seed Oil has vitamins A, B, C, E and K, essential fatty acids and anti-inflammatory properties.
Avoid blending with photosensitive oils such as lime, bergamot, orange, lemon, grapefruit, angelica and tangerine. These oils counter sun-protecting properties of the seed oils and leave you more susceptible to sunburn and sun damage, in as few as 5 minutes. Use these particular oils at nighttime, and never apply them before going outside during daylight hours.
FDA regulations generally don't allow sunscreens in cosmetics, since they would need to be marketed as a drug. However, sunscreens can be used in select cases, such as color additives, as long as clearly labeled and approved by the FDA.

Serums should moisturize and nourish the skin in an intense age-fighting way. High quality serums contain strong doses of active nutrients that we blended to deliver maximum results, and the best of them are free of fillers.
By including serums in your daily beauty routine, you're turbo boosting your skin's natural vitality and radiance with powerful blends.
Each serum listed below has been developed to improve skin from morning to night - specially formulated to maximize the naturally-occurring benefits of each individual natural ingredient to work powerfully together.
Serums are important in a beauty routine because they pack a powerful punch of age-fighting benefits while still allowing your skin to breathe.
Keep your skin dewey and bright each morning by applying Argan Morning Serum daily.
Pomegranate Seed Oil - This serum also includes Pomegranate Seed Oil. A study at the Medical College of Virginia found that this oil activates production of the protein collagen, which tightens the skin while minimizing wrinkling.
Rosehip Seed Oil - Rosehip Seed Oil contains B-carotene and vitamins A, E, D, and C which fight free radicals that will damage skin and cause premature aging.
Macadamia Nut Oil - Macadamia Nut Oil contains a rare antioxidant named squalene that naturally occurs in our bodies to reverse and prevent sun damage. Applied to skin, this oil will boost the antioxidant power of the body, reversing and preventing damage and aging.
Argan Oil - Argan Oil, Pomegranate Seed Oil, Carrot Seed Oil, and more make this the perfect for mornings where you need something light and easily absorbable with protection from free radicals, dirt, and pollutants in the air that can cause skin issues.
Argan Morning Serum can offer you a degree of protection from the sun and can keep your skin moist as well.
As Dr. Leslie S. Baumann, a dermatologist at the University of Miami School of Medicine, explained in an article, researchers have discovered that Argan Oil can hold water within the epidermis, the thin surface layer of the skin, so it doesn't evaporate.
Jojoba Oil - Jojoba Oil naturally seals and protects skin from bacteria, dirt, and other pollutants that your skin will encounter throughout the day.
Kiwi Seed Oil - We also added Kiwi Seed Oil to our morning serum because it has the highest vegetarian source of linoleic acid - an ingredient that will heal skin and reduce wrinkles as well as facilitate the absorption of other active ingredients in the serum.
Carrot Seed Oil - Carrot Seed Oil contains carotenoids, which is well-known to be UV-protectant, and will boost the SPF of any sunscreen you choose to apply after using the morning serum.
Cucumber Seed Oil - Containing phytosterols which promotes the health of the skin's barrier, this oil prevents infection, fungus, and acne.
Blueberry Seed Oil - Blueberry Seed Oil contains Omega-3 fatty acids which is an intensive moisturizer.
Calendula Oil - is known to heal damaged skin, soothe irritation, and smooth skin tone due to it's anti-inflammatory properties. It's the extra healing boost your skin needs to prepare for the day.
Sea Buckthorn Seed Oil - With a high concentration of Vitamin C and over 190 nutrients and phytonutrients, this oil naturally nourishes and boosts the health of your skin.
Geranium - Geranium Essential Oil will help prevent breakouts and reduce inflammation and redness. The natural floral scent gently awakens you to a beautiful morning.
THE SKINNY ON THE EXTRA BENEFITS
HOW TO USE IT
Coffee Eye Lift Serum reduces bags, wrinkles and discolored spots around the eyes. It also firms the skin in that area, giving you a perkier morning complexion.
Coffee Bean Oil - Coffee Bean Oil, Green Coffee Bean Oil, Pomegranate Seed Oil, Rosehip Oil, Argan Oil, and Watercress Oil work together in this potent formula to brighten skin, reduce swelling, increase collagen production to lift eyes, and heal damaged skin cells.
Its components include Coffee Bean Oil, which acts as an antioxidant. Antioxidants are capable of restoring and mending human tissues, as well as blocking the harmful effects of free radicals. Damaged dark circles under your eyes will be revitalized with this serum.
Dr. Howard Fein, a Harbor-UCLA Medical Center dermatologist and surgeon, is just one expert who's publicly endorsed coffee as a cosmetic ingredient, particularly since caffeine can constrict blood vessels. And, when a smaller amount of blood goes into a person's skin, redness will dissipate and swelling will go down.
Pomegranate Seed Oil - Pomegranate Seed Oil reduces swelling in the skin through naturally-occurring flavonoids.
Rosehip Seed Oil - Containing anti-oxidants which reverse and prevent skin damage, this is the perfect oil to apply to the delicate skin underneath the eye area.
Argan Oil - Gently moisturizing and full of nourishing vitamin E, antioxidants, and fatty acids, this oil will help the skin under your eye retain moisture and gently repair skin.
Green Coffee Bean Oil - Green Coffee Bean Oil was tested by Brazilian scientists and it was discovered that collagen production 2 times as much as the control group and elastin production had increased by 1.5 times, causing skin to reduce in wrinkles, fine lines, and sagging.
Watercress Seed Oil - A naturally healing and moisturizing oil that can treat eczema, psoriasis, or other inflammatory conditions, this oil brightens dark circles under the eye area caused by inflammation.
THE SKINNY ON THE EXTRA BENEFITS
HOW TO USE IT
Your skin needs to rest and renew during your sleep but you don't want something that sits on top of your skin that doesn't allow air to breathe. Rosehip Night Serum can dramatically renew your face and neck and is rich and intensely moisturizing.
Rosehip Seed Oil - This serum features Rosehip Seed Oil, which contains fatty acids that hydrate the skin and vitamin C that makes it more flexible. Rosehip Seed Oil has undergone medical studies that have found significant results for the effectiveness Rosehip Seed Oil in repairing damaged skin. The famed herbalist David Hoffmann has noted that the Vitamin C in Rosehip is especially potent. Hoffmann has described how Rosehip's store of this vitamin strengthens the immune system and counteracts free radicals, particles that can damage cells and ultimately age skin.
Jojoba Oil - Jojoba Oil, Maracuja Oil, and Lavender Essential Oil are just some of the ingredients in the night serum. Because Jojoba Oil is chemically similar to sebum - our skin's naturally produced oil - it is easily absorbable and intensely moisturizing. The Myristic Acid in Jojoba Oil make it anti-inflammatory, perfect for skin with blemishes, stress acne, irritation, redness, or sunburn.
Pomegranate Seed Oil - Our evening serum also contains Pomegranate Seed Oil which stimulates keratinocytes, an epidermal cell that produces anti-aging, antioxidant keratin.
Carrot Seed Oil - The addition of this oil to the evening serum boosts both the Vitamin A and Carotene content, both of which are anti-aging and reparative.
Raspberry Seed Oil - The high percentage of alpha linolenic acid in Red Raspberry Seed Oil makes it intensely anti-inflammatory and reduces wrinkles.
Maracuja Oil - Maracuja Oil has powerful healing and skin-renewal properties due to the lycopene in the oil. Lycopene is a potent anti-oxidant that can prevent further skin damage and even reverse skin damage done by the sun. Passion Fruit Seed Oil (or Maracuja Oil) is also well known to encourage sleep.
Tomato Seed Oil - Contains the potent anti-aging nutrient Vitamin E which intensely moisturizes the skin and prevents fine lines and wrinkles.
Watercress Seed Oil - The high content of Vitamin C in this oil boosts skin cell production and reduces wrinkles.
Calendula Oil - An impressive healing oil that is used to reduce pain and to promote healing of wounds, redness, and itching.
Lavender Essential Oil - Lavender Essential Oil is well-known for its antibacterial, healing properties and soothing aroma. When bacteria encounters the surface of the skin, it can cause breakouts. Lavender Essential Oil acts as a protectant from bad bacteria within the skin.
Together, these oils make an intense and deeply nourishing evening serum that will heal skin and treat redness and irritation.

Dry hair isn't exactly healthy. It is more susceptible to damage, and that damage can appear everywhere from the hair shaft to the living root. Your damaged hair can be more uncontrollable, break more often, and even fall out more quickly than healthy locks.
Natural beauty oils have a dual benefit here: They moisturize your hair and they nourish the root. Natural oils also improve hair and scalp health without the harsh consequences of conventional hair care products, such as chemical exposure and risk of irritation. Use the following tips to turn your hair from dingy to gorgeous, boosting confidence at the same time.
Does your shampoo create tons of suds? Chances are, it's full of damaging sulfates, which can strip your natural oils and contribute to dullness and damage. The safer and healthier approach is to use an all-natural shampoo without sulfates, parabens and other harsh chemicals. Plus, unless your hair is abnormally greasy, consider washing no more than every other day.
Add three to four drops of Emu Oil to your conditioner for an instant boost. This oil has a high percentage of essential fatty acids and absorbs through multiple skin layers, encouraging hair growth. Finish with a toning after-shower rinse of Rose Water Toner. Simply mist on and don't wash out.
Deeper treatments, such as an invigorating pre-shower scalp massage, can rejuvenate follicles, balance oils and moisturize your scalp. Combine Carrot Seed Oil and Jojoba Oil, using two to three drops of each and massaging for one minute.
For a warm oil treatment, apply five to six drops of ultra-hydrating Jamaican Black Castor Oil to your hair and wrap snugly in a towel. Rinse it off after two hours, and consider weekly treatments.
Sometimes, premature graying can be another side effect of unhealthy, damaged hair. To help slow down graying, make sure your diet is high in nutrients and minerals such as iron, zinc, and vitamins D and B12. You can also massage essential oils mixed with Argan or Jojoba Oil onto your scalp. Rosemary, lavender and sage are great essential oils to use to boost hair production. Plus they smell fantastic!
Hair dryers, although convenient, can do a number on your hair. Add a few drops of Argan Oil beforehand to naturally condition without adding weight, and keep the heat setting on low. Make sure you properly brush your hair, I suggest using these tools https://www.teamtruebeauty.com/the-wet-brush-review-why-is-it-so-special/
Now we should talk brushes. Skip the plastic, which can lead to snags and hair breakage, and go for natural boar bristles or wood bristles that distribute oils, don't generate static, and give you a lovely head massage in the process. Also, grant your hair a day off on occasion, and opt for a loose bun or braid instead.
Thanks to natural oils and some lifestyle changes, you can achieve the shiny, lustrous hair you've always wanted.

Gold for skin care has been used through the centuries for radiant health and beauty with the most famous gold-touting beauty being Cleopatra herself. She was known to use pressed gold as a face mask nightly to preserve her youthful appearance.
From gold leaf to colloidal gold, this healing metal has been known to decrease inflammation and increase absorption of nutrients into your system.
Hailed for its luxurious qualities, gold has been used as a beauty secret for centuries by ancient Chinese civilizations as well as Cleopatra. Now the internet is exploding with photos and stories from Victoria Secret supermodels and bloggers about the wonderful ingredient that adds youth and radiance to your face.
Here are 9 reasons experts say adding gold as an ingredient in your beauty routine could give you ageless, glowing skin and if you use the acne treatment adelaide then your skin will be even more flawless.
Colloidal Gold (or nanoparticles) is most well-known for its use as an anti-inflammatory agent in arthritis care but is also proven to treat inflammatory skin conditions.
A study by Allen Goldstein, Ph.D. found that colloidal gold (gold nanoparticles) were effective in directly activating the skin’s anti-inflammatory response, called the Nrf2 pathway. The Nrf2 pathway is a protein response built into your immune system that calms inflammation and works as an antioxidant.
By using a gold-infused flower toner, you're amplifying the antioxidant power of your beauty routine.
Medical use of gold is fairly common due to its significant effect on skin tone and treating skin inflammation and conditions.
Simon P. Fricker, Doctor of Cancer and Immunology, writes that, “Encouraging results have also been obtained with gold therapy as a treatment for various inflammatory skin disorders such as pemphigus, urticaria and psoriasis.”
The most common inflammatory skin disorder is psoriasis, also thought to be associated with the immune system, where a scaly rash appears on the skin. Pemphigus is an autoimmune disease which causes blisters to form on the skin. Urticaria is often caused by allergic reactions to foods that results in welts, itching, and swelling.
Gold can quickly and effectively help treat inflamed and irritated skin and skin conditions without chemicals.
One of the main causes of bad breakouts is the dirty bacteria that you encounter on a daily basis.
To avoid breakouts and fight the bacteria, simply use gold. A recent study revealed that gold has been used to kill even super bacteria - bacteria that has built up a resistance to antibiotics.
This stunning new study is fantastic news for the medical world as well as those of us struggling with acne. After cleansing with a gentle natural moisturizer, follow with our Gold Moroccan Rose Water Toner Spray.
Gold’s ability to soothe your skin and heal health issues is not the only benefit of using gold in skin care.
On a molecular level, free radicals are molecules that have an uneven amount of electrons. Because these molecules are unbalanced, they will “steal” electrons from healthy molecules through a process called oxidation. Free radicals often cause damage to skin cells which can cause premature aging, wrinkles, and cancer.
Huffington Post interviewed Tabasum Mir, M.D. and found that as a cosmetic dermatologist, she commended gold’s ability to reduce inflammation and redness and also to fight aging caused by free radicals, wrinkles, and sun damage.
Collagen is the protein in your skin made out of connective tissue. Skin with a high amount of collagen is tight, plump and firm. Gold is often used to boost collagen production in the skin, fighting wrinkles and increasing natural, youthful elasticity.
Coupled with other pure collagen boosting products, gold helps stimulate your natural firmness.
When applied to the skin with other oils or beauty products, gold increases the absorption rate of other nutrients. The size of the gold is the key.
According to a crossover Chemistry, Dermatology and Medical Study, “Gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) represent an effective choice for topical drug delivery systems thanks to their small size, general non-toxicity, ease of functionalization and high surface to volume ratio.”
Gold encourages absorption of everything from topical medicine to other beauty products, making it the perfect ingredient for ultimate absorption and effectiveness.
Because gold is itself an antioxidant and is highly effective in encouraging absorption of other nutrients, the antioxidant power of gold mixed with any other antioxidant substance amplifies the antioxidant power of the mixture. It’s a powerhouse of anti-aging.
Even though gold is a luxury item, it’s incredibly effective even in low doses.
A study was done on medical dosage of gold serum used for rheumatoid arthritis where they studied whether 50 mg or 150 mg of dosage would be more effective. The result was that the 50 mg performed as well as three times the amount. “Conventional dose therapy was as efficacious as high dose therapy with respect to the rapidity and degree of response.”
Using just a small amount of gold will give you the boost in skincare that you need to make a positive change for your skin.
When used on your skin, colloidal gold not only sinks deeply into your skin but also gives it a youthful glow. Try Leven Rose 24K Gold Rose Water as an alcohol-free toner to deliver the most effective anti-inflammatory, refreshing, and youthful boosts to your skincare routine.
Diamonds may be a girl’s best friend but when it comes to your face, go gold.

If you have sensitive skin, you know how difficult it can be to achieve a smooth, blemish-free complexion. From flare-ups to redness and skin irritation, your skin certainly lets you know when it's not happy and balanced.
Before you know it, you'd rather hide beneath layers of makeup. Don't! To help your skin, let it breathe and moisturize with natural Argan Oil.
Argan Oil is the perfect accompaniment to soothe a variety of issues and help you achieve healthy, glowing skin. Here are six key reasons your skin will love natural Argan Oil.
Argan Oil's combination of ferulic acid and vitamins A and E help revive skin elasticity, which can also reduce wrinkles and present more youthful skin. Need an anti-inflammatory, anti-aging boost for your skin? Make a gentle and fun DIY Blueberry Argan Oil Face Mask using honey, blueberries, and Argan Oil.
This oil, endemic to Morocco, is non-comedogenic and won't clog up your pores; the zero rating lets you know it will absorb quickly without fuss. For comparison, coconut oil is considered comedogenic, or pore-clogging, and has a rating of four. Argan Oil is also lightweight and non-greasy, which is perfect for a quick touch-up as you're headed out the door.
Thanks to antioxidant carotenoids and heart-friendly nutrients like phytosterols (two of which include schottenol and spinasterol), all natural Argan Oil helps reduce swelling and irritation for everything from rashes to eczema to other skin problems. Are your shaving sessions notorious for causing painful post-shave bumps and rashes? We hear you. With this oil you can start to see - and feel - smoother, happier skin.
Argan Oil is rich in healthy vitamins, essential fatty acids and antioxidants. All combined, it provides one healthy boost for your skin! Vitamin E (alpha and gamma tocopherol) helps nourish the skin, prevent moisture loss, and heal wounds and scars. Of the fatty acids, 43% are oleic and 36% are linoleic.
By regulating the skin's oil production, Argan Oil helps your body know when to stop cranking out the oil. With less sebum (oil) production, you'll end up with less acne naturally.
Apart from your face and body, you can also apply Argan Oil to your hair, eyelashes, lips and nails. Odorless and lightweight, natural Argan Oil won't irritate delicate membranes or sensitive eye areas. You won't need to worry about it weighing down your hair, either. Use it alone or in combination with other favorite moisturizers for a well-rounded beauty routine boost. You can even give your lips a perk by making yourself an Argan Oil Sugar Lip Scrub!
You can run a small amount of oil (roughly 4-6 drops) through your hair, and you can also massage it into each nail cuticle. For your oily or problematic skin, pour 3-5 drops onto your (clean!) fingers and rub across your face gently. You can apply Argan Oil before shaving for use as a shave oil, or you can wait until after shaving to use it as an effective moisturizer. Moisturized skin is also much less likely to result in painful nicks.
Argan Oil is a fantastic product for everything from calming irritated or oily skin to soothing painful razor burns. Soon enough, you'll wonder how you ever got by without it. Want to learn more? Learn about the History of Argan Oil!

Acne-prone skin can be frustrating, even embarrassing, and it can put a damper on your self-esteem. Natural oils, however, can be highly effective at treating oily, acne-prone skin and any resultant scars. Fats? Oils? On my blemished skin? No way!
Contrary to what you might believe, natural oils are not bad for acne-prone or oily skin. Rather, they are typically botanical-based oils made from pressing the healthy, fatty components of a plant, such as the seeds or nuts.
Carrier oils like Sea Buckthorn, Broccoli Seed, Jamaican Black Castor and more can help balance sebum production, soothe inflammation and reduce flare-ups. Here are the top 11 natural oils you might want to test out if you have oily, acne-prone skin.
You know those plump, red seeds inside the pomegranate fruit? Turns out they have more uses than just providing you with something to chew on and spit out.
Pomegranate seeds make Pomegranate Seed Oil, and this oil is ideally suited to acne-prone skin because it has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. It also has linoleic acid balancing sebum levels, and punicic acid, which has high antioxidant, skin-protecting properties.
2. Argan Oil
Made from the argan tree's non-roasted kernels, Argan Oil is a powerful product high in essential fatty acids and vitamin E, which can be ideal for scars and problem skin. Since the slow-growing argan tree is endemic to southwest Morocco, care must be taken to gather the oil in a sustainable fashion; Moroccan women have formed many cooperatives to do just that.
Cold-pressed, unrefined, beauty-grade (not to be confused with cosmetic-grade) Argan Oil helps nourish and moisturize the skin without encouraging excess sebum production. It also has a noncomedogenic rating of 0, and therefore won't clog pores, which is excellent news for those who break out easily. Check out this Blueberry Argan Face Mask for some fun ideas.
Cold-pressed Carrot Seed Oil is made from the seeds of elegant flowering wild carrot, which some of you might know as Queen Anne's lace. Anyone with acne scars should pay attention to UV protection, to avoid scars harden and darken while you're outside.
This Carrot Seed Oil is superb for protecting the skin, and it can be applied as a base layer under sunscreen. It moisturizes while balancing sebum production, which is always helpful for oily or acne-prone skin. Plus, it helps with skin cell rejuvenation and reducing the appearance of wrinkles (Shh! We won't tell if you won't!), encouraging smoother skin with a more youthful glow.
4. Sea Buckthorn Seed OilDoes sea buckthorn come from the sea? Nope, but its healing properties are certainly making waves. The seeds from this coastal-mountainous shrub are pressed to release their bountiful supply of sebum-balancing linoleic acid and alpha-linolenic acid.
Apart from helping with acne, Sea Buckthorn Oil is suitable if you suffer from other skin conditions like rosacea; the anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties soothe blemishes and unsightly redness.
5. Tomato Seed Oil
Is anyone else guilty of scooping out these seeds and throwing them away? You might want to reconsider in light of the fact that oil from these seeds help your problem skin.
That's right, Tomato Seed Oil is rich in vitamin E, linoleic acid and antioxidants like lycopene and lutein. The oil also has plenty of minerals that restore softer, healthier skin.
6. Emu Oil
Emu Oil is the sole animal-based oil on this list. Good practices are at work here because emus are not killed for their oil. Rather, it is a by-product of the Australian Emu meat industry and would be wasted if it didn't have such great skin-healing properties.
Emu Oil has oleic acid for strong, skin-soothing, anti-inflammatory properties, while its linoleic acid component helps add moisture and keeps pores unclogged. The oil is also great for sun damage, for those of you who love the sun just a tad too much.
7. Broccoli Seed Oil
Eat your broccoli! Now you can add another perk to this cruciferous vegetable: its ability in helping achieve better skin. Linolenic, linoleic and arachidonic acid all help add moisture and essential fatty acids to your skin.
Broccoli Seed Oil also has plenty of vitamin A and C, and it can soothe inflammation from acne and balance your skin's sebum production.
8. Tamanu Oil
Tamanu is made from laurelwood tree nuts, which grow in tropical climates around the world. This oil, like many of the others on this list is anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and UV-blocking. Acne sufferers have much to gain from Tamanu Oil.
Like its close counterpart, castor oil, Jamaican Black Castor Oil is made from pressing the castor plant's beans to capture their beneficial oils. The difference is in the processing: Jamaican black castor beans are first roasted and then pressed, which produces ash and can enhance the healing properties.
The oil helps soothe inflammation, diminish signs of aging and moisturize like nobody's business. Thanks to the ricinoleic acid, Jamaican Black Castor Oil is also beneficial for eliminating facial bacteria, balancing hormones and softening irritated skin.
10. Kiwi Seed Oil
Kiwis are bland on the outside, but inside they're gorgeous. Now just imagine what they can do for your skin. With high concentrations of alpha-linolenic acid, vitamin E and plenty of antioxidants, Kiwi Seed Oil is primed to help your skin achieve a balanced moisture content and supple appearance.
Nothing says summer like freshly picked raspberries. The seeds of this gorgeous fruit contain vitamin E, essential fatty acids and a high SPF effectiveness of 25-50, when used as a base layer under sunscreen. How's that for berry power!
Red Raspberry Seed Oil also helps calm skin inflammation and banish blemishes, all the more reason to give it a try.
Carrier oils don't need to be diluted, which makes them handy when you're dashing out the door or chasing after an adventurous youngster. You can apply natural oils after a shower or bath, or as an overnight moisturizer. They also work when added to your other beauty products or as an intensive treatment for acne scars, eczema or rosacea.
Some oils, like Pomegranate Seed Oil even work well for oil cleansing. Massage 2-4 drops onto your face and then rinse off or wipe off with a warm wet cloth.
Start your journey toward healthier skin. Confidence in your own skin is achievable with the help of natural, organic oils.

]]>In medical fields, tests are developed to be clear, minimal in bias, and proven by tested practices and tracking. How else will be know what works and what doesn't? Even still, those results, we test over and over to be sure.
This little unknown seed, which we'll share with you in a minute, has come up in skin care ingredients over and over.
So we've found not one, but two medical studies that took hundreds of people going through skincare issues, and tested their results against a control group and this seed's oil.
What are the skin conditions?
160 adults opted in willingly to test out this oil during their skin recovery after open surgical procedures to remove skin tumors - mostly on their faces. The other study tested women who experienced stretchmarks and other scarring after pregnancy.

These 2 studies are completely independent of Leven Rose - we simply discovered them to share them with you.
"In the medical field, Rosehip Seed Oil (RHO) has been used for decades to treat wounds and/or scars.
The beneficial effect of this oil has been attributed to its high content of essential fatty and unsaturated acids abovementioned, which play a key role in the permeability of cell membranes and injuries repair mechanisms," states the skin recovery study at the Dermatology Service of University Hospital [1].
For this study, "the Rosehip Seed Oil (RHO) is extracted from the seed of the fruit of the wild plant. Some studies have examined before the chemical composition of this compound, where the high content of polyunsaturated fatty acid highlights: linoleic acid (54%), linolenic acid (17%) and oleic acid (16%) between others." [1]
For the Use for Pregnancy Study, "Rosehip Seed Oil is one of the products that greater interest has woken up in Dermatology, Nutrition and Cosmetic. It is used to hydrate, nourish and revitalize the skin damaged by different topical diseases.
Pregnant women use it to warn and attenuate stretch marks, surgical scars and, associated to antenatal perineal massage, to minimise the perineal trauma in the childbirth." [2]
"This bibliographic review tries to show the most actual Scientific Knowledge about the effectiveness of its use during pregnancy and postpartum," explains the pregnancy study [2]. See more at the link below.
For the surgery recovery medical study, patients in the test group needed to apply Rosehip Seed Oil "twice a day on the scar, from the removal of sutures, for six weeks. No adverse effects were observed in any patient, neither in the treated group and the control group," which didn't receive any rosehip treatment at all. [1]
According to the Dermatology Service of University Hospital, "Several studies have found high levels of unsaturated fatty acids in Rosehip Seed Oil, mainly linoleic acid, linolenic acid and oleic acid. Essential fatty acids are basic components of the phospholipids in cell membranes, which are involved in numerous cellular organization processes.
Some compounds like carotenoids and polyphenols have also been isolated from the Rosehip Seed Oil, which are responsible for the antioxidant activity attributed to this compound. It is possible that the presence of these substances in the Rosehip Seed Oil contribute to a better evolution of the healing process, especially if it is applied early, as happened in our patients." [1]
The final results, seen at the links below resulted in significant results, that supports the development of providing additional studies to further scientifically prove the power of pure Rosehip Seed Oil in medical healing.

]]>If someone asked you to name one physical trait of a man without thinking, just to say the first thing that pops into your mind, it’s quite likely that you would say beard. (If you would say anything else, then get your mind out of the gutter.)
The beard stood as a symbol of manliness for ages. Of course, there are those who presume that, in order to grow a beard, you just have to avoid shaving. However, when it comes to a true gentleman’s beard, nothing could be further from the truth.
Here are a few things everyone should know about the art of bearded manliness.
Naturally, the power, wisdom, and maturity beards were associated with also served as tokens of one’s sexual power and prowess. Even modern science recognizes that bearded men are more attractive to women.
As was already mentioned, one of the greatest misconceptions regarding beards is that a true gentleman’s beard is a product of simply not shaving. In order to have a full, gentlemanly beard, you need to invest a significant amount of effort into grooming. This means trimming your beard, using an organic beard oil, and washing it frequently.
You'll also need to learn how to use a beard comb and beard brush. Using plastic damages hair follicles, which is something that can harm your beard’s appearance in the long run and even make it painful to maintain.
Sure, this consumes even more of your time, but practice makes everything perfect. After a while, you won’t even stop to think about grooming your beard and mustache. You'll do it with ease and the pace at which you brush your teeth.
Having a proper beard is just half the work of bearded manliness. In other words, if you dress like a hobo, even the most epic beard won’t be able to help your overall appearance. One of the main reasons why beards looked so epic in the past was because men who were wearing them had a clothing style to match.
These days, we tend to stray from superior style (harem pants? Really?). Luckily, the overall impression that a dapper men's suit paired up with a well-groomed beard creates is simply unrivaled. A number of contemporary men could benefit from a good suit.
Growing a beard requires much more than just the ability to grow hair on your chin and cheeks. It takes patience, care, responsibility, and perseverance. In other words, it requires being a real man. Regardless if you go with a goatee, circle beard, Van Dyke, or mutton chops, after a while, your beard will become more than just a facial accessory. It will become a core part of your identity.

]]>Getting started with essential oils can feel like information overload. There are so many different scents to choose from! How can you tell if your essential oils are high quality?
Essential oils are so much more than just nice smells. They can alleviate stress, help fight stubborn colds, and lull you to sleep even when your mind is racing after a busy day. You won't enjoy as many benefits if your essential oils aren't pure, though. Some spas like Swim Spas Plus have these oils to help you relax.
So how do you tell if some essential oils are higher quality than others? And how do you use these oils, anyway?
Check those certifications and grades! We offer USDA certified organic essential oils, which means no filler oils, additives, pesticides, herbicides, or anything synthetic. Our essential oils are also therapeutic grade. Nothing is added or taken away, so you enjoy their full purity and therapeutic effects.
We extract our essential oils through a steam distillation process where plants are steamed under pressure to yield oil. The heat and pressure are carefully balanced throughout the process so the oil stays potent. The pure oil in our bottles is collected when the steam cools and the water separates. Roughly 250 pounds of peppermint leaves are needed to make one pound of peppermint essential oil!
Making pure essential oils is a slow, careful process. Some essential oils out there might have low prices, but they can't claim the same high quality.
Now that you have the good stuff, it's time to give it a try!
Before applying an essential oil to your skin, make sure to dilute it with a carrier oil first! We recommend mixing with pure Jojoba Oil so your skin won’t get irritated. Start off by adding three drops of carrier oil to every one drop of essential oil.
Here are some of our favorite ways to use essential oils:
1. Diffuse your essential oils – Add your essential oils to water in an Essential Oil Diffuser for Aromatherapy. Diffused oils quietly improve air moisture, breathing, and a peaceful night’s sleep.
2. Treat acne and fungus – Tea Tree Essential Oil is known for treating skin conditions like acne and fungus. Apply the diluted oil with a cotton ball to clear your skin.

Lemon’s drying and clarifying powers can also fix a greasy scalp.5. Fight bacteria and infections – Our organic Defense Essential Oil (comparable to the Young Living Thieves blend) contains clove, lemon, cinnamon, eucalyptus, and rosemary, which are all powerful disinfectants. A study by the University of Buenos Aires found that clove is especially effective against E. coli and bacteria that causes pneumonia.
6. Alleviate aches and pains – Rub diluted Lemongrass Essential Oil into your muscles to alleviate muscle pain. Have a headache that just won’t go away? Apply diluted Lemongrass to your temples.
